Originally recorded for BBC6 Music in 2016 as a soundtrack to Robert Aickman's short story, The Hospice. The story was read by Gideon Coe during his radio show at Christmas that year. It was subsequently broadcast on Radio 4 as an omnibus edition.
The music was released 19th October 2018 on cassette by Clay Pipe Music, 1st edition of 100 copies (blue) and a 2nd edition of 100 copies (green). Now both sold out.

I am so delighted to have discovered the music of The Hardy Tree and Frances Castle's illustrative work as well. Her music is wonderfully evocative and strange. Buy everything! I am looking forward to Stagdale Part 2! Dez Foley
I love these EPs - they're magical and evocative, as if they're from some strange, half-remembered TV programme from your childhood. Looking forward to Part 3 already! chris1892
These eight tracks sprung from improvisations and were recorded in real-time, every second expansive and mysterious. Bandcamp New & Notable Mar 6, 2023
